Botanical Name: Alpinia zerumbet ‘Variegata’
Variegated shell ginger is a bold tropical foliage plant prized for its long, glossy leaves boldly striped in green and creamy yellow. A member of the ginger family native to East Asia, it forms upright clumps that brighten shady corners, poolside planters and tropical-style landscapes. In warm, frost-free areas mature plants may produce drooping clusters of fragrant, pearly pink-and-white flowers that resemble seashells, giving the plant its common name.
